Fletcher Publishes a Visual Guide to Architectural Styles

Margaret Fletcher, Associate Professor, Associate Program Chair, and the Ann & Batey Gresham Professor of Architecture, has provided a new volume to her growing collection of published work. Architectural Styles: A Visual Guide crosses the world from Europe and the Americas to Egypt, China, and India while looking at key architectural elements.  The book outlines international historical and contemporary architectural styles and describes the characteristics of the buildings and traditions of different eras and regions of the world. Illustrated by Robbie Polley, the book is modeled after an architect’s plein air sketchbook and features hundreds of detailed drawings and informative descriptions.  The Princeton University Press stated that “rich variety is one of the book’s strengths.” Diverse and thorough, Architectural Styles: A Visual Guide is an essential resource for anyone interested in architecture or drawing.
