As the oldest NASAD accredited programs in the state of Alabama, the School of Industrial and Graphic Design (SIGD) has a dedicated group of full time faculty who mentor and shape students enrolled in their professional design programs. Industrial and Graphic Design were both founded in the School of Architecture and Applied Arts in 1945. Now, as signature programs within the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, creative problem solving and prototyping in studio experiences prepare students for professional practice upon graduation.
