Azhar Receives Best Research Paper Award

Dr. Salman Azhar, associate professor in the McWhorter School of Building Science, received the Associated Schools of Construction’s Best Research Paper Award at the ASC’s 49th Annual International Conference in San Luis Obispo, CA on April 12. The Paper, “A BIM-based Approach for Communicating and Implementing a Construction Site Safety Plan,” was co-authored with Alex Behringer, a former Building Science Undergraduate Student. The prestigious award is given annually to one researcher based on the feedback of peer reviewers and the ASC publications committee. Azhar has received this award for two years in a row. Last year his paper, “Modular v. Stick-Built Construction: Identification of Critical Decision-Making Factors,” was selected for the best paper award at the ASC’s 48th Annual International Conference held in Birmingham, England.
