Promoting AU Design Studio
Because Dr. George Flowers, Dean of the Auburn University Graduate School, wanted a big bold design to get students to look at Auburn at international recruiting events, he turned to Auburn’s Industrial Design program for help. He and Daniel Raffalovich, Director of Auburn’s English as a Second Language Program, collaborated with Shu-Wen Tzeng, Associate Professor of Industrial Design, and her third-year Packaging and Exhibiting Design studio in a Promoting AU Design Studio.
The goal of the studio was to promote Auburn University to students around the world by showcasing display designs and promotional gifts designed by industrial design students. “Our students enjoyed the challenge,” says Tzeng. “Because they know how to design and package things in a beautiful and effective way.”
Through engaging images of the Auburn campus and original products designs that emphasize the Auburn brand, Tzeng’s studio have given potential international students a feel for the stellar work that happens at Auburn University.
