We do not require prospective students to submit a portfolio for admissions or scholarship consideration. We do not review portfolios.

Scholarships

The CADC awards college wide and major specific departmental scholarships based on a student’s AUSOM application. Criteria for scholarships vary and include, but may not be limited to, academic major, geographic location, academic achievement, and financial need.

CADC Learning Communities

Learning Community cohorts are composed of 20 students who share a common interest or major. The CADC offers a college specific Learning Community open to incoming freshmen. Students have the benefit of taking between 2-4 courses in their freshmen year with the students in their Learning Community. Learn more here.

CADC Summer Camps

CADC Summer Camps are designed to give high school students a glimpse into what a major in Architecture, Design or Construction would look like. These week-long, residential programs begin with basic concepts and conclude with projects specific to the field of study. While working each day in the CADC studios, shops and labs, students engage and learn from our highly-qualified professors while having a residential experience provided by the Auburn Youth Programs Office in the evenings.

Study Abroad

Study abroad programs grant students the opportunity to gain a new perspective on life. The CADC offers unique study abroad experiences specific to each of the majors in the college.

Professional programs are inherently more expensive to run than non-professional programs. They require more space, more personnel, a lower student-to-teacher ratio, access to a higher level of technology than most disciplines, and incur significant costs associated with achieving and maintaining accreditation from the appropriate specialized, national agencies. Through the professional fees, the CADC continues to provide our students with rigorous and relevant academic experiences, which contribute to our programs being recognized as among the best in the nation. That depends on the program. Architecture is a five-year undergraduate curriculum. Building Construction, Landscape Architecture Industrial Design and Graphic Design have a four-year curriculum. However, all the programs have courses that must be taken in certain sequences, and some of these courses are only offered once a year. If your child misses a semester, then he or she may not be able to finish on schedule. For more detailed information, please contact the Student Services Office at 334-844-5350.
The 1974 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), also known as the Buckley Amendment, is a federal law (20 U.S.C. 1232g) that protects the privacy of a student’s educational record. FERPA applies to all educational institutions receiving funds from the United States Department of Education, from kindergarten through university level.

Being in compliance with FERPA means that a student’s academic records cannot be released to anyone except the student.
