This summer, the Auburn Alumni Association awarded its first-ever Creed Grants, distributing $150,000 to five programs that embody the values of the Auburn Creed. Two research projects from the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) were selected amongst over 50 applicants.

Rural Studio received $65,000 to design and build its CREED House: a Cost-Effective, Resilient, Energy-Efficient, Equitable and Durable home that addresses critical housing issues in vulnerable communities. Using a $20,000 grant, CADC Assistant Professor Gorham Bird will collaborate with Elijah Gaddis, a History Professor in the College of Liberal Arts, to launch Buildings as a Bridge, a pilot academic program that explores the historic preservation of the Rosenwald Schools.
