SIGD Welcomes Joey Tigert

Auburn’s School of Industrial and Graphic Design (SIGD) welcomes Joey Tigert as Visiting Assistant Professor of Graphic Design.

Tigert, a multimedia artist and educator, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, accompanied by a minor in Graphic Design from Middle Tennessee State University.

He then pursued a Master of Fine Arts in 2D Studio Art from Southern Illinois University. Throughout this, Tigert has also delved into teaching, sharing his passion with students at various institutions including Middle Tennessee State University, Motlow State Community College and Southern Illinois University.

Reflecting on his new role at Auburn University, Tigert expresses enthusiasm for the opportunity.

He remarks, “Working at Auburn is an incredible opportunity to pursue my teaching and research goals. I’m excited to work with the dedicated students and outstanding faculty at SIGD.”

Tigert aims to leverage his time at Auburn to further explore his creative practice.

“While at Auburn, I intend to expand my creative practice as I continue to explore how advancements in technology intersect with and influence human perception and the natural world.”
