Increasing Sustainability through Use of Rain Gardens
Rain gardens can be an effective method for improving pollutant capture, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience in residential areas. An interdisciplinary team, including landscape architecture faculty member, Charlene LeBleu, examined which specific native species plants performed best when exposed to short-term flooding. The team presented their preliminary findings at the Auburn Faculty Research Symposium in January 2021.
Charlene LeBleu is professor in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. She also helps lead the Green Infrastructure Lab.
