Alexandra Toney, CADC Graduation Marshal Summer 2022

Alexandra Toney of Montgomery, Alabama, has been selected as the student marshal for the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) for Auburn University’s summer 2022 commencement ceremony, scheduled for August 5-6.

Toney will receive a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design. She was a member of the Black Student Union, serving on its Transfer Committee and as Assistant Director of Community Relations. She was also a CADC Student Ambassador this past year and was secretary of the Environmental Design Student Organization.

She has received a full scholarship to the Master of Landscape Architecture program at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Assistant Professor Kelly Homan said that Toney was a joy to teach. “Alexandra is a thoughtful and dedicated student whose work consistently reaches or exceeds expectations,” Homan stated. “She will no doubt excel in graduate school as she has in our Environmental Design program.”

Katherine Buck Chastain, CADC’s Administrator of Student Recruitment, said that Toney represented the college well to prospective students and their families. “She is an excellent example for her fellow students and did a great job of showing what Environmental Design could be to all our prospective students.”
