Annual Events and Programs
Graphic Design Juried Student Show
The Annual Graphic Design Juried Student Show is an opportunity for students at all levels of Auburn’s graphic design program to submit their best work for exhibition. While the faculty jury work into the exhibition, fourteen awards are juried by a guest speaker and industry leader. Past jurors include Gail Anderson of Anderson Newton Design, Martin Venezky of Appetite Engineers, DJ Stout of Pentagram, and many more.
Graphic Design Senior Project Show
The Senior Show is held every spring and fall semester and gives graduating graphic design majors a chance to highlight work from their senior projects. Faculty and students from across the college, as well as the seniors’ families and friends, are invited to attend an opening reception each term. The show also gives students a chance to meet industry figures and discuss their work with design professionals that regularly attend the exhibition. Additionally, work found to be exemplary by the faculty is awarded a gift from our longtime sponsor, J & M Bookstore.
Design Interaction
Every Fall semester, industry experts from around the country are invited to speak and participate in class activities during Design Interaction.
Designing Green
Designing Green is the School of Industrial + Graphic Design’s annual student sustainable design competition. Each spring the IDSA student chapter sponsors a 24-hour sustainable design competition for students to design and build a functional object completely from recyclable materials.
