BSCI Alum Receives AGC’s Highest Honor for Georgia Commercial Construction

Clark joined R.W. Allen & Associates, headquartered in Augusta, Georgia and now known as RW Allen Construction, as a project engineer immediately following his graduation and has worked his way up through project administration, development and leadership roles for the last 40 years. As the company’s former president and current Chief Executive Officer, Clark draws on decades of experience and a wide range of expertise to lead the company with a goal-oriented passion for the construction industry.

The Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC Georgia) awarded Clark the 2026 Skill, Integrity & Responsibility (SIR) Award, the organization’s highest honor for the state’s commercial construction industry leaders. Presented in June during the organization’s annual convention, the award honors individuals’ exceptional service and contributions to the construction industry and their communities.

“Scott has spent decades pouring into the construction industry through his professional leadership and by investing in people,” said Zach Fields, CEO of AGC Georgia. “Whether mentoring future leaders, supporting students exploring construction careers or helping guide AGC Georgia, he has consistently worked to create opportunities for others and strengthen our industry for the future.”

Throughout his career, Clark has been actively involved with AGC Georgia, serving 14 years on the Board of Directors and as president in 2017. Since 2022, he has also served as an Elected Governor on AGC of America’s Board of Governors, supporting industry advocacy through state and national political action committees. He helped establish AGC Georgia’s Executive Alliance for senior level construction executives and has supported the organization’s Leadership Academy and Young Leadership Program.

“Graduating from the Building Science program at Auburn gave me the tools necessary to begin my career in our industry,” Clark said. “I had the privilege of having two outstanding professors and mentors—Bob Aderholt and Steve Williams—who kept me highly engaged within the curriculum.”

Clark passes that mentorship on to future generations by championing workforce development through the AGC Georgia Skills Challenge Series. He will help host the 13th Annual East Georgia Skills Challenge this fall, during which local high school students connect with construction industry professionals through friendly competitions that teach construction basics.

In addition to his work in the construction industry, Clark serves on advisory boards for Georgia Southern University, Synovus and Helms College and participates in the Exchange Club of Augusta.

A lifetime member of the Auburn Alumni Association, Clark and RW Allen have contributed to student scholarships through the Auburn University Tigers Unlimited fund for the last 20 years.
