An Important Message for our CADC 2020 Graduates

Dear CADC Graduates,

On behalf of the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC), it is my pleasure to congratulate you on your graduation from one of our programs. Clearly, this is an important milestone in your personal and professional life.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 related circumstances, AU graduation ceremonies originally planned for August 8, 2020 have been postponed indefinitely.

The CADC’s planned reception to honor you, your colleagues and your families has been scaled down considerably.

All CADC buildings will be open on Saturday, August 8 from 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. CST allowing you to take pictures and re-live memories from your years with us.

In addition, in the near future we will be mailing you a commemorative medallion for your graduation from one of the graduate or undergraduate programs in the CADC. We are presenting this memento to our spring 2020 and summer 2020 CADC graduates.

Of course, I would have preferred to present this to you in person, and to have the direct experience of shaking your hand, handing you the diploma, smiling for a picture, hearing the audience clap, and seeing the pride and happiness in your face, and your friends’ and family’s faces, and sometimes even tears of joy. I hope that you will accept receiving this memento through the mail, as a necessity created by our restricted circumstances.

Please accept my deepest appreciation and respect for you as a CADC student and university citizen. I wish you much success as you embark upon your career. I will be watching from afar and cheering you on.

War Eagle!
