About

CADC Day of Design 2022

Welcome to the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) at Auburn University.

We at the CADC apply design thinking and building skills to pressing challenges and concerns today, foregrounding equitable, sustainable solutions for our collective built environment that range in scale from cities and regions to landscapes and infrastructures, buildings and spaces, information graphics and products, objects and details.

More than 1,800 students from around the world are enrolled in the CADC, taught by highly engaged, accomplished faculty with significant industry experience, innovative research portfolios and recognized creative scholarship. Our small classes provide students with critical-thinking skills, inventive processes and practical methods to engage the ongoing and emerging social, cultural, political and environmental challenges of our current and near futures.

The CADC’s rigorous and nationally recognized programs are firmly rooted in Auburn University’s land grant mission to improve the lives of local, national and international communities through teaching, research and service. We value the impact that forward-thinking design and quality construction have on people and places, and we continue to structure our signature academic programs, including Rural Studio, Urban Studio and the Center for Construction Innovation and Collaboration, to embody this value.

Our talented students benefit from study abroad experiences, integrated industry partnerships, research initiatives, outreach activities, dedicated teaching excellence and leadership opportunities that challenge, educate and mentor them to be grounded, globally-minded practitioners and future leaders.

The CADC is comprised of three schools:
School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture
McWhorter School of Building Science
School of Industrial and Graphic Design
