Designing Green, Sustainable Student Design Competition, on February 20‒February 21

Designing Green, the School of Industrial + Graphic Design’s annual student sustainable design competition, will be held on February 20–February 21, at Wallace Hall. Sponsored by the student chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of American (IDSA), Designing Green 2014 features a speaker and a 24-hour sustainable design competition. Tiffany Threadgould, Chief Design Junkie at TerraCycle, Inc., an award-winning international upcycling and recycling company, will lecture at 9 a.m., on Thursday, February 20, in Wallace Hall, rooms 107 and 111.The sustainable design competition begins at noon. Student design teams will work with materials in the TerraCycle library, including wine corks, tents, and leather, designing an upcycled use for these materials in the form of a product. Judging will take place at noon on Friday, February 21. A cookout on Wallace Hall lawn will follow. All events are free and open to the public.
