Wesley Collins is a Professor in the Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science, where he specializes in preconstruction, construction education, artificial intelligence and mass timber construction. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Collins spent more than a decade in the commercial building construction industry working in estimating and project management roles, experience that continues to inform his teaching and research. He has established a national reputation through externally funded research projects totaling more than $1.2 million, over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers and research reports, and extensive contributions to construction education scholarship. Dr. Collins has received numerous national and international honors, including the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) International Outstanding Researcher Award, ASC International Outstanding Educator Award, the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Mark Hasso Educator of the Year Award and the International Journal of Construction Education and Research (IJCER) Best Paper Award. He currently serves on the ASC Board of Directors, is the ASC Annual International Conference Proceedings Editor and co-chairs the ASC Estimating Faculty Boot Camp.
