Throughout his academic career, Tamulonis has applied a focus on affordable and accessible housing, design and policy, leveraging computation and emerging methods to augment the design and construction processes. Initially introduced to these ideas at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture, he was able to explore them further while receiving a master’s at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Tamulonis has also explored design in a range of work with Adjaye Assosiates, Selldorf Architects and Trahan Architects, where he collaborated on a variety of projects including a high-rise residence, a college museum and the USA Pavilion Expo. Now, working with Rural Studio’s Front Porch Initiative, he has been able to further explore his interests in affordable housing research and development.
