Steven O. Aydelott is a Senior Lecturer in the Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Environmental Architecture at the University of Missouri. He holds a Master of Architecture from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Auburn University. His research focuses on building preservation and sustainable design. Aydelott is certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a licensed architect in nine states. Additionally, he is a licensed General Contractor in seven states and is licensed by the Southern Building Code Congress International as a Building Inspector. He is also a longstanding member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
With thirty-five years of design-build experience, Aydelott owns two companies: S.O.A.,Inc. and Aydelott Architecture, LLC. He is currently designing and building commercial projects across the southeastern United States.
