Shadi Alathamneh teaches courses related to construction information technology, Building Information Modeling, digital construction and emerging technologies in the construction industry.

His research focuses on the practical application of artificial intelligence (AI), Building Information Modeling and reality capture technologies in construction practice and education. His work explores how custom AI agents and digital learning tools can support construction education, preconstruction, estimating and model-based workflows.

Alathamneh also conducts research involving LiDAR scanning, photogrammetry, unmanned aerial vehicles and digital documentation. These technologies are applied to construction sites, historic buildings, cultural heritage sites and other complex built environments. His research emphasizes hands-on implementation, interdisciplinary collaboration, workforce preparation and the development of technology-driven solutions for the construction industry.
