Mark Wamble is a Professor of Practice of Architecture in the Auburn University School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture. As a Founding Principal of Interloop—Architecture, Wamble has provided design services to a wide range of clients, from institutional, to civic, cultural, industrial and residential. Wamble has lectured extensively and taught at Rice University; the Harvard Graduate School of Design; the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation; the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning; and the University of Illinois Chicago. As a Founding Partner of Architectural Safety Components, Wamble established a new set of priorities for safety-related building components with their first UL listed product, LELU®. LELU exceeds its important life-safety function by offering a made-to-order exit sign that integrates aesthetic legibility and highly regulated technical requirements into a single design. Wamble’s current research focuses on innovation through small-batch manufacturing, with recent emphasis placed on contemporary thin-shell constructions derived from ancient craft-based technologies.
