Laura Bell holds a M.S. from Cornell University’s Department of Design and Environmental Analysis and a B.A. from the University of Virginia in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Urban and Environmental Planning. By addressing socio-ecological challenges from a human centered design approach, Bell strives to improve environmental conservation efforts through civic ecology, design, and systems thinking.
In addition to serving as adjunct faculty in Environmental Design, Bell currently manages and develops multi-year grant projects for the Alabama Cooperative Extensions’ Water Program at Auburn University. Her professional experience has included both teaching on social change and design, as well as working on EPA and Extension funded grants to engage local communities in improving watershed planning, implementing best management practices, and developing educational programs.
