Milwaukee Tool, an industry leader in developing solutions for construction trades, has generously provided a gift-in-kind in tools and equipment to the McWhorter School of Building Science. The tools are being put to use at the Robins & Morton Field Lab and will be utilized by building construction students for service-learning projects, field lab classes and disaster relief projects.

This gift is the beginning of a long-term relationship between the McWhorter School and Milwaukee Tool. Each year the company will provide additional support in the form of tools, replacements and repairs. Regional Manager Nick Biondo stated, “Our goal at Milwaukee Tool is to be an industry partner and develop products for safer and more productive jobsites worldwide. We look forward to a long-standing mutual partnership to grow and develop the industry.”

In addition, through the Milwaukee ONE-KEY™ Tool & Equipment tracking system, students will learn about tool management using the Milwaukee Tool TICK™. Before heading into the field, they will check out tools by scanning them with an app on their phones which will enable faculty to monitor where each tool is being used. Representatives from the company traveled to the Robins & Morton Field Lab to set up the tools with official merchandising to mimic a retail setting. “Our goal was to make sure that we could outfit every group at the field lab with the tools needed to complete their projects,” explained Nick Kuse, Territory Manager with Milwaukee Tool. “The tools we provided are the best we have to offer in order to give students a first-class experience.”
