Meet Kat Hollister ’07: SIGD Advisory Council Member
The companies Kat Hollister ’07 has worked with in design reads more like a “Fortune 500” list than part of a resume.
Now based in Atlanta, Georgia, the Auburn Graphic Design (GDES) graduate is currently Senior Manager, Product Design for Peloton, the internationally recognized fitness equipment company.
After graduating from the School of Industrial and Graphic Design (SIGD), she joined the IQ Agency in Atlanta. She later went on to work within the innovation teams Second Story and Emerging Experiences at SapientRazorfish.
Prior to joining Peloton in 2023, she was Design Director with Stanley X, the innovation group of Stanley Black & Decker. Over the course of her 15-year career, she has had the opportunity to lead a wide range of new initiatives for global and national brands including Mercedes-Benz, T-Mobile, Delta Air Lines, Microsoft, Express, Universal Orlando, Kraft, Home Depot, Bayer, UPS and the Showtime Network.
Hollister says the collaborative atmosphere she encountered while a student at Auburn has had a major influence on her professional career.
“My favorite memories of Auburn are centered on studio time with fellow students and our professors, especially during the foundation coursework and senior project,” she recalled. “The camaraderie and constructive critique to encourage the best work for each project are what I’ve found in the best studios I’ve worked in and have since inspired how I work with teams that I have the honor to lead.”
As a new member of the SIGD Advisory Council and an active GDES alumna, she is looking forward to taking her Auburn service to a new level.
“I’m honored and excited to serve on the SIGD Advisory Council,” she said. “Since graduating, I’ve taken a lot of pride in the opportunities I’ve been offered to come back to Auburn to speak, or to host faculty and students at my business offices.
“My goal for my service is to elevate the visibility/reach of SIGD and provide current students and faculty access to my expertise and network in digital and product design.”
