Magdalena Garmaz Selected as SGA’s 2016–2017 Faculty Member of the Year for the CADC
Magdalena Garmaz, Environmental Design Program Chair and Ann and Batey Gresham Professor of Architecture, was recognized as the 2016–2017 Faculty Member of the Year from the College of Architecture, Design and Construction at the Honors Ceremony hosted by the Auburn University Student Government Association on April 6.
The 2016–2017 Faculty Member of the Year is given to a faculty member “who most demonstrates excellence in teaching, respect for peers and students, concern and availability for student, and involvement inside and outside the classroom.” This is the fourth time that Garmaz has received this recognition.
Garmaz was chosen by the student leaders from CADC who wanted to recognize her for her dedication to students and service to Auburn University. “Magdalena Garmaz has so much knowledge not only about architecture but also about the environment and its surrounding,” says Katie Bobo, fifth-year interior architecture student and president of the CADC Student Ambassadors. “She inspires her current, past and future students to be their best selves whether in the classroom or out in the world. She is here for the students, and that’s obvious through her work ethic and dedication to this college.”
