Graphic Design Professor Helps Black Belt Nonprofit Update Its Identity

Robert Finkel, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Industrial + Graphic Design, worked with Black Belt Treasures to create a new logo that is part of its updated identity. Now called Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center to better reflect their mission, BBTCAC is located in Camden, AL and is a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the many talented artists and craftsmen of the Black Belt region by providing arts education and other cultural opportunities. Finkel created a “woven star” logo that is found throughout the arts and crafts, especially quilts and baskets, of the Black Belt region. He chose a color palette of cool and warm earth tones that also relate to the Black Belt.??
