Where The World Was Left Behind
This Capstone explores the layered implications of ignorance, irresponsibility and pain embodied in the phrase “I don’t know,” revealing its role in obscuring history, evading responsibility and retreating from suffering. Through a dialectical lens rooted in gender studies, it examines two historical sites—Tiananmen and Daan Forest Park—to interrogate how power operates across events, places and cultural frameworks in Chinese society, symbolized throughout by the color magenta.
