Manual
This Capstone aims to fully explore the relationship between generational families and furniture. For lower to middle class families, furniture is less seen as a status symbol and more for its functionality and its role within the family. It is very common in these households to see beautifully decorated furniture sealed off in plastic wrap in order to preserve its beauty and also later serve the younger generation. Comparatively, sewing is a skill that is passed down through generations, its function literally being to connect pieces of fabric together. The connection of these two art forms will lead to uncovering what should truly be valued.
