SUMMARY:Architecture Camp: Session 1
DESCRIPTION:This week-long program is designed to begin with basic concepts and conclude with several architectural design projects. These projects allow the students to display the information they have learned throughout the week. This is a highly intensive and exciting workshop where students receive vast amounts of hands-on experience. While working each day in the Auburn University School of Architecture\, Planning and Landscape Architecture studios\, students engage and learn from the university”s highly-qualified professors with the opportunity for individual guidance as well. \nProgram faculty consists of dedicated and caring Auburn faculty members who hold degrees in Architecture\, Landscape Architecture\, and the Fine Arts. The faculty’s diverse background will ensure students receive a broad perspective of the different aspects of design. There will also be camp counselors present at all times with the students to ensure safety and supervision. In addition to their work in the studio\, students will experience campus-life on the plains. From residing in resident dormitories and dining at on-campus facilities to enjoying evening social and recreational activities\, the students will receive a memorable experience and great opportunity that they will cherish. \nCamp participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn’s resident dormitories\, eating at campus dining facilities\, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities. DESCRIPTION:We are hosting two sessions of this Design Workshop for High Schools students. Session 1: June 17-22 Session 2: July 8-13. \n  \nAuburn University’s Industrial Design Camp offers an engaging program for rising 9th – 12th grade students interested in a professional career in Industrial Design. Hosted by the College of Architecture\, Design\, and Construction’s School of Industrial and Graphic Design\, this week-long resident camp offers an intensive design experience beginning with the identification of a design problem and rapidly progressing through idea generation\, concept development\, and exploratory prototyping. \n  \nEach day is filled with practical\, hands-on design activities\, technical demonstrations\, and in-depth instruction. Foundational skills such as sketching\, rendering\, and prototyping are emphasized throughout the week as participants develop their solution to the issue at hand. DESCRIPTION:The Building Construction camp hosted by the Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science is a week-long program geared toward rising 11th – 12th grade students interested in the field of Construction Management. Participants will learn from McWhorter School of Building Science faculty and current students about construction materials and methods and how to plan and safely manage a construction project.
