DESCRIPTION:The School of Industrial + Graphic Design welcomes Dr. Russell Flinchum\, who will present a lecture\, “Taking the Measure of Henry Dreyfuss\,” on Tuesday\, February 10 at 1:00 p.m.\, in 107 Wallace Hall. Flinchum is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design and Industrial Design at North Carolina State University. He is a former Peter Krueger/ Christie”s Fellow at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and was named Guest Curator for the exhibition Henry Dreyfuss: Directing Design.  He is the author of the accompanying book\, Henry Dreyfuss\, Industrial Designer: The Man in the Brown Suit. Flinchum”s lecture is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Julie Bargmann\, founding principal of D.I.R.T. studio\, will present the first lecture in the School of Architecture\, Planning and Landscape Architecture’s Spring 2015 Lecture Series on Friday\, February 20\, at 3:30 p.m. in B6 Dudley Commons. Bargmann\, an internationally recognized innovative designer in building regenerative landscapes\, is also an associate professor of Landscape Architecture in the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia. Her lecture\, “Working Traces\,” is free and open to the public. The APLA lecture series is supported by practicing architects\, planners and landscape architects in the State of Alabama.
