Heymann is Harwell Hamilton Harris Regents Professor in Architecture and Teaching Professor at the University of Texas Austin. His lecture\, “An Un-flushable Urinal: The Aesthetic Potential of Sustainability\,” will be in Dudley B6 auditorium and is free and open to the public. The APLA lecture series is supported by practicing architects\, planners and landscape architects in the State of Alabama.

DESCRIPTION:The School of Architecture\, Planning and Landscape Architecture Fall 2015–Spring 2016 Lecture series\, “on the BRINK: beyond which success or catastrophe occurs” continues on Monday\, October 26 with a free\, public lecture by Guy Nordenson titled “Reading Structures.” Nordenson is Professor of Architecture and Structural Engineering at the Princeton University School of Architecture and is principal of the structural engineering practice\, Guy Nordenson and Associates\, in New York City\, NY. The practice focuses on a number of on-going collaborations with architects. Recently completed projects include Kimbell Art Museum Expansion in Fort Worth\, TX with Renzo Piano Building Workshop\, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York with SANAA and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Expansion in Kansas City\, MO with Steven Holl Architects among others. Nordenson”s lecture will be in B6 auditorium in Dudley Commons at 4:00 p.m. The APLA lecture series is supported by practicing architects\, planners and landscape architects in the State of Alabama.
