futures studio is a collaboration between The School of Industrial and Graphic Design and the local businesses of Mobile Alabama. Faculty Director, Randy Bartlett will lead a group of fifteen students this fall to interact with businesses and industry partners and assist in the development of new products and marketing strategies.
Starting fall 2019, the collaborative studio will be housed in the 304 Government St. Building—the former offices of the Press Register now owned by the Alabama Creative Arts Center. Students will reside in a complex of renovated 19th-century duplex cottages.
This test concept is in keeping with curriculum-based design education and research projects within the School of Industrial and Graphic Design and in collaboration with industry and partners.
