Hardin will receive a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) with a minor in Dance. During her time at Auburn, she participated in multiple service opportunities, from mentoring programs and teaching assistant roles within the College to volunteering in her church nursery and at local assisted living homes.

Going to college in her hometown allowed Hardin to pursue her education with the support of her family. She pursued a degree in architecture because it combined technical logic with the creativity of the arts, and in time, found how design can meaningfully support people’s daily lives and wellbeing.

“Through student work opportunities, I came to understand the strong camaraderie of the architecture program and the genuine integration of the ‘Auburn Family’ values within the studio environment,” she said. “Joining this program surrounded me with excellent faculty and a supportive cohort all eager to encourage my enjoyment of learning.”

Hardin plans to pursue employment in a healthcare architecture firm to continue exploring wellbeing in the build environment.

Hardin took advantage of college-wide networking events like the APLA Career Fair.

While in school, Hardin interned at Seay, Seay and Litchfield Architects in Auburn and HMK Architects in Brentwood, Tenn. Following graduation, she plans to pursue employment in a healthcare architecture firm to continue exploring wellbeing in the build environment. This will allow her to continue her thesis research about hospice design.

“My Auburn experience revolved around the generosity of faculty in studio collaboration, design competition mentorship, visiting lecturers and internship preparation that encouraged me to grow personally and professionally,” she said. “Their support guided my commitment to design for wellbeing, and it continues to inform my goals post-graduation.”
