CADC Holds Annual Awards Banquet on October 22
Vini Nathan, Dean and McWhorter Endowed Chair in the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction welcomed a crowd of more than 150 as the CADC celebrated the accomplishments of its faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends at its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 22 at the Hotel at Auburn University. Special guests included Provost Tim Boosinger and Associate Dean for the Libraries Marcia Boosinger, Dr. John Liu, Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Research, and his wife, and the CADC Executive Board. Highlights of the evening included a visit from Aubie and bespoke Auburn-themed cookies created by architecture graduate Carie Tindill’s Cakeitecture Bakery.
For only the second time, the CADC Industry Legacy Award was presented at this year’s banquet. Dean Nathan presented the CADC Industry Legacy Award to Emerson for its long and sustained positive impact in the design and construction community; for making a permanent imprint on our region through its work and service to the greater community; and for enhancing our student environment through its involvement with our college.
Each year the CADC Outstanding Staff Award is presented to a CADC staff member who performs beyond the call of duty to improve service, quality or the college’s image; exemplifies professionalism and dedication to excellence; provides outstanding contributions of significance to the university’s, college’s, or department’s effort to fulfill its mission; and whose accomplishments exceed normal expectations. Joline Landry, Administrative Support Specialist in the McWhorter School of Building Science, received the CADC Outstanding Staff Award from Dean Nathan.
