Daniel Bennett is Dean and Professor Emeritus in the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design and Construction. He served as Dean of CADC from 2000–2011.

Bennett left his position as dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas to accept the position as dean of Auburn’s CADC in the summer of 2000. His eleven year deanship at Auburn was highlighted by growth in overall college enrollment, fundraising for and the construction of the Gorrie Center for Building Science, achievement of permanent operational funding for both Rural Studio and Urban Studio, significant growth and expansion of the college’s graduate programs and oversight of funded research growth by a factor of eight. Further The Department of Building Science achieved school status and overall faculty positions were increased throughout the college. Importantly, the CADC became a more integrated and collaborative place to learn and teach with new bridges built between the various academic programs. During his tenure the programs in architecture, building science, industrial design and landscape architecture achieved national rankings as cited by DesignIntelligence. Alumni became more actively involved in the college as their role in facilitating private funding advancement increased as well as their participation in the overall advisement of college academic programs.
