Auburn INDD Alum Named IDSA Interim Executive Director
Congratulations to Chris Livaudais, 2002 industrial design graduate and good friend and supporter of the program, on his appointment as the new interim executive director of the Industrial Designers Society of America. Livaudais has been an active member in IDSA since his graduation, serving as Atlanta Chapter Chair, South District Vice President, a member of the Board of Directors and West District Chapter Representative. Livaudais was Senior Design Consultant at Embraer in the San Francisco Bay Area when he was named to the IDSA interim executive director position. Prior to this, he was Creative Director of InReality in Atlanta, Georgia.
Megan Neese, chair of IDSA’s Board of Directors, says, “Chris works in industrial design as many of us would classically define it—but also in high concept futures, experience, research and strategy. Because he’s based in San Francisco, he’s also immersed in the technocentric culture of design in the Bay Area, where the role and skill set of a product designer is rapidly expanding. His roots are at Auburn University and in Atlanta—where he spent a decade making product/service experiences as an industrial designer and creative director. To him, all of this can co-exist and inform a sense of possibility and promise for the future of IDSA.”
