APLA Fall 2017 Lecture Series – Kate Orff

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture”s 2017–2018 Lecture Series, | in between|, begins on Monday, September 25, with a lecture by Kate Orff. Professor and Director of Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation”s Urban Design Program, Orff is responsible for founding and co-directing the GSAPP”s Urban Landscape Lab, an applied research group focused on the role of design in urban ecosystems. She is also the founding Principal of New York –based landscape architecture studio SCAPE, which focuses on biodiversity, community-based change, and sustainable design. Her lecture, “Toward an Urban Ecology,” is at 3:30 pm in Dudley B6 auditorium and is free and open to the public. The APLA lecture series is supported by practicing architects, planners and landscape architects in the State of Alabama.
