Seab Tuck Receives William Strickland Lifetime Achievement Award

Sep 6th, 2015

Seab A. Tuck III, FAIA, a 1975 Auburn architecture graduate, received the 2015 AIA Tennessee William Strickland Award for Life time Achievement at the AIA Tennessee State Convention in July. This award is the highest honor that AIA Tennessee can bestow on an individual who has exhibited a lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture. Tuck is a principal in Tuck-Hinton Architects in Nashville, Tennessee, whose diverse portfolio of work has been recognized with more than 150 awards and featured in numerous publications.

“The William Strickland Lifetime Achievement Award is a most apt recognition of Seab Tuck’s work and professional life as an architect. He is a transformative leader and an outstanding role model for architecture both in the academy and in practice,” says Vini Nathan, Dean and McWhorter Endowed Chair in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction. “For more than decade, Seab has served on the CADC Executive Board where he has brought a much needed and well received fresh, bold, and thoughtful perspective to the role of education in general and the impact of architectural education in specific. In reflection of his ability for significant impact, Seab is transitioning from his current role as Vice-Chair to Chair of the CADC Executive Board beginning fall 2015.
