Goyette Receives the CADC Distinguished Alumni Award

Harold “Hal” Goyette, a 1950 graduate of Auburn’s Architecture program was honored with the College of Architecture, Design and Constructions Distinguished Alumni Award during the college’s annual awards banquet on October 20. The criteria for this recognition includes: a graduate of one of the CADC programs; at least 50 years of professional distinction and leadership; and support of the advancement and continued excellence of AU or their profession. Harold Goyette, AIA, AICP founded Cole and Goyette, Architects and Planners Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1981 with Doris Cole, FAIA. The firm specializes in educational, commercial, and residential buildings for public and private clients. Goyette’s experience includes more than 45 years in architecture and planning, both in both in private practice and previously as Director of Planning at Harvard University. He was a founder and past President of the International Society of College and University Planners. His master plans include several inventories and long-range plans for Harvard University. In addition to Hal Goyette’s tenure at Harvard University as Director of Planning, he was the Director RSKU/ERTI, Harvard University Planning Task Force; Partner at Chapman and Goyette, Architects and Planners; and Project Architect with Joseph Luis Sert and The Architects Collaborative.
