Former CADC Dean J. Thomas Regan Passes Away

The College of Architecture, Design and Construction is sad to report that Tom Regan, former Dean, architecture alumnus, and good friend, passed away at his home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts on Thursday, March 5. He was 74 years old. A memorial service will be held this spring in Osterville, Massachusetts on a date to be announced.

A 1964 graduate of the Auburn Architecture program, Regan served as CADC dean from 1994 until 1998. He has remained close to many in the CADC. “Tom was not only my friend, he was a mentor, a partner, and a valued colleague in many varied ways,” says Dan Bennett, CADC Dean Emeritus. “He had the energy of a cocker spaniel puppy, was incredibly wise, had a sharp wit, and he was one of the most creative architectural administrators whom I have ever known. Many of the advantages that our faculty, students, and staff in the CADC enjoy today are the results of Tom’s leadership. I will miss him more than words can describe, and his passing has left a void in our profession that will not be easily or quickly filled.”
