Virginia Patterson, a senior in graphic design in the Department of Industrial + Graphic Design, will have her work featured in CMYK Magazine’s “Top 100 New Creatives” issue.  Working under the direction of graphic design rofessor Ray Dugas in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, Virginia submitted work that was part of the identity and ad series for “Locavore,” a campaign for eating locally to CMYK Magazine’s worldwide portfolio contest that is open to students, recent graduates and all non-professional artists and designers. Her work will be published in CMYK Magazine #55, their spring issue.

As an Auburn graphic design major, Virginia is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) student chapter and AU’s Committee of 19.  Virginia teaches in the AU English as a Second Language program, is a Visiting Artist in Graphic Design at Auburn High School and participates in the 2012 SUPER Emerging Scholars program sponsored by Auburn University and the Alabama Humanities Foundation.

Virginia served as an intern with the United Nations World Food Program in Rome, Italy.  She continues to design for the World Food Program’s academic affiliate, Universities Fighting World Hunger.  She also has been a designer for Auburn’s Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities.
