Four Industrial Design Students are Design Emphasis Showcase Finalists

Four industrial design students from Professor Tin Man Lau’s furniture class are among the thirty-nine finalists selected for the Design Emphasis Showcase at the International Woodworking Fair, LLC taking place in Atlanta, August 24–27, 2016. IWF is one of top woodworking trade shows in the world for furniture manufacturing, architectural woodwork, and custom and general woodworking industries, and Design Emphasis is one of the foremost furniture design competitions for students. The competition recognizes and rewards advanced level designs in seating, case goods, commercial/office/hospitality furniture, accent furniture/accent table, and design creativity. Shijia Wang, a graduate student, and seniors Minxiang Luo, Daniela Toro Schemera, and Kaitlin York will have their designs judged by industry experts plus have the opportunity to attend the IWF and network with industry contacts and other students.
