Professor and School Head
Each year the School of Industrial and Graphic Design brings design professionals and students together to present and discuss each other's work. Past speakers have included Lisa Motto '83, Global Design Director for Coca-Cola; John Edson, President of LUNAR; David Kusuma, Vice President of Product Development and R&D for Tupperware; and Lee Clark '98 Interactive Art Director at Disney.
Industrial and Graphic Design students have the opportunity to study in Ireland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Scotland, England, and Italy. Programs are offered in Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
Designing Green is the School of Industrial + Graphic Design's annual student sustainable design competition. Designing Green takes place each Spring semester and features speakers and a 24-hour sustainable design competition.
Auburn University's Design Workshop offers an engaging program for rising ninth through twelfth grade students interested in a professional career in design. Hosted by the College of Architecture Design and Construction's School of Industrial + Graphic Design, this week-long resident camp offers an intensive design experience beginning with the identification of a design problem and rapidly progresses through idea generation, concept development, and exploratory prototyping.
Industrial Design and Building Construction faculty lead an interdisciplinary studio to develop cost-effective tools that could solve common industry needs. Faculty develop and collect suggestions on construction problems that could be solved with a new tool or redesign.
