Jeff Kim returns to Auburn University after 20 years of experience in industry with his prior work experience being preconstruction services and project management for a mid-sized construction management firm. Jeff also has extensive experience in construction related information technology and the implementation of new technologies to the practice of construction management. Most recently he acted as a liaison between the technology industry and the construction industry to bring practical and time saving solutions to the construction job site.
Areas of Research
Jeff approaches research by exploring solutions to industry issues with practicality and a focus on applicability. His past research focused on improving spatial visualization ability in construction management students through the use of augmented reality, which has been documented in a Thesis entitled “Assessing the effects of augmented reality on the spatial skills of postsecondary construction management students in the U.S.”. Jeff remains focused on volunteer causes that further construction education. He is the Chairman of the Industry Advisor Committee for a construction management program in Atlanta, Georgia, acts as a lead mentor for the ACE Mentor program and facilitates program activities for SkillsUSA and the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia.
