Carla Keyvanian received her Ph.D. in Architectural History from MIT. Her first professional degree is from the Istituto Universitario Architettura in Venice, and she holds a Science Master's in Architecture, also from MIT. Before coming to Auburn, she was a Paul Mellon Fellow and then a Research Associate at the Center for the Advanced Study of the Visual Arts of the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC; she taught at MIT, the University of Connecticut, and in numerous Architecture Programs in Rome. She has published several articles and is currently completing a book on the Medieval and Renaissance architecture of Rome, her main field of expertise. In Auburn, she teaches and coordinates the history courses for the School of Architecture.
